What started in a locker room...

After working in girl/ women's empowerment for over a decade, Alexis was asked to give a talk to the top eighteen quarterbacks in the country on the "importance of respecting women." When it aired on ESPNU it went viral and suddenly she was That Girl giving tough love talks to male athletes. Overnight she was hired by Division One locker rooms all over the country and ProtectHer was born; an initiative that invites, inspires and educates young men on the importance of respecting women and how they are not simply the "problem" when it comes to violence against women, but they are also the cure.

Became a movement

After spending years speaking to athletes across the country (Alabama, University of Texas, USC, UCLA, Berkeley, UGA, West Point, The Naval Academy) the #MeToo movement exploded and Alexis was hired by Fortunate 100 companies (Google, Facebook, NIKE, NETFLIX, DELL, Pepsi) and invited to speak on international stages and private backrooms with Hollywood elite, top military commanders, powerful politicians, C-suite executives, renowned thought leaders and passionate activist to tackle the issues of power dynamics, societal inequalities, radical inclusivity and more than anything, tangible solutions moving forward.
With over 1M+views, Alexis' fifteen minute TEDx talk (above) also went viral. Compelled to do more and with the help of a dream team, the ProtectHer documentary (currently on Amazon Prime) and a four part, digital education program was created as a tool to engage, inspire and educate people on the issue of sexual assault prevention while also celebrating all the incredible young men doing it RIGHT.

The ProtectHer Program
Due to the incredible generosity and investment from the Womble Family, The Anderson Family and The Dell family this, this ProtectHer program and documentary became a reality.

The ProtectHer Program is a four-part digital education program for young men (high school and up) on the importance of respecting women. It consists of four, one hour each, sessions and includes a 125-page facilitator's guides as well as four PowerPoint presentations that accompany each session.
The Mission: ProtectHer believes that in order to safeguard the dorm room, we must first activate the power and influence within the locker room. With 1 out of every 5 young women on campus being the victim of sexual assault on U.S. college campuses, the need for this program has never been greater. By recognizing the greatest influencers on campus—male athletes—and speaking to them in a relatable way, ProtectHer is the only sexual assault prevention program that understands its students are also the solution. THIS is how tidal change begins.
The Promise: To provide Parents, Coaches, Athletic Directors, Administrators, and Community Facilitators with a powerhouse sexual assault prevention program that redefines “locker room talk” while empowering athletes to cultivate respect for themselves and others. Deeply researched and strategically assembled, the ProtectHer program is a unique tool that cuts straight to the heart of the issue by speaking directly to the powerful cultural leaders who wear the jersey.
The Solution: The ProtectHer program is the first of its kind designed to meet athletes where they are, using the language they use, in the sports and entertainment vein they want to see. A moderator’s guide contains all of the information you need to guide a robust discussion with your team. In addition, several documentaries produced by award-winning filmmakers combine with fun, engaging activities to foster community and understanding as you tackle the tough issues head-on, together.
