About Alexis Jones
Alexis Jones is an internationally recognized motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and founder of the female empowerment company I Am That Girl. At only 25 years old, she has navigated the beauty industry as a teen model, earned a Masters in Communication from the University of Southern California, hiked to the base camp of Mt. Everest, and gained world-wide exposure as one of the final contestants on the CBS hit show Survivor Micronesia. In 2007, she launched iamthatgirl.com, a socially conscious interactive online magazine dedicated to inspiring authentic, confident girls and women everywhere. Alexis and the I Am That Girl Dream Team launched That Girl Goes Global in 2009, an international, leadership program that works to raise global awareness and promote philanthropic contribution. Alexis also recently coined the word BELLISM as her rendition of the 21st Century women's empowerment movement aiming to redefine society’s narrow definition of beauty and to remind women everywhere that they are in fact on the same team. |
| Alexis currently is the Spokesperson for SOLD, a non-profit dedicated to ending sex trafficking out of Thailand and is working intimately with The UN Foundation's global campaign to empower girls (The Girl Fund) launching in March. In 2010, Alexis will be teaming up with Houses of Hope to film a documentary highlighting girls in Afghanistan, touring around promoting her new book, Be That Girl, and hosting a travel show called, Go Local.
Alexis has created a bold reputation for herself in the motivational speaking world due not only to her exceptional life experience, but her commitment to critical inquiry into women's issues and her passion for inspiring people to recognize and fulfill their highest potential. From Beverly Hills to the Bronx and from rural Cambodia to Argentina, this Southern bell, Texas tomboy is changing the world one girl at a time. She is committed to being the change our world needs and has the audacity to dream big enough to make it happen.
